After much consideration, I think the Stephen Sprouse Roses Speedy 30 is just out of my league. At first, I was excited about the potential of having it. When I finally negotiated the terms with Tony that we could both accept, and I was free to buy it, suddenly the guilt of spending $1400+ on a bag when people are losing their jobs just seemed too inappropriate. Moreover, I might be unemployed and officially broke in a few months time. I decided against it. There will always be other Cherry Blossoms and other Stephen Sprouse's in the future. Maybe when I'm rich, I can hire a stylist to track it down and by then it will probably be considered vintage. Anyway, on that note, I thought I might comment a little on the McQ by Alexander McQueen for Target. The collection looks great! I like a lot of the pieces but nothing in particular screams McQueen except the high-waisted skirt and the studded denim jacket. Below are pictures of items I wish to own in March 2009.

I can't tell if this is a dress or a shirt and skirt/skorts ensemble. I hope it's a shirt. I don't know if I can justify buying yet another dress.

This bandage dress is beautiful, look at the draping. I love it but I'm not sure how it would work in the day time. Does this one fall into the cocktail dress category?

Studded denim jacket. I can't live without this.

OK. Bandage dress. Need I say more?

The classic McQueen high-waisted skirt. Depending on the detailing, this might be a skirt that could be found at a vintage store. I love the way it flares though. I'm not sure that characteristic would be found in a vintage one.

I've always been a fan of jumpsuits. I have the Stella one in both black and navy and have only worn the black on recently. The Stella one isn't as practical because it's made satin. The McQueen one is definitely a day time item. I could totally rock it at work.

For me, the only one I really really want right now is the sleeveless harness dress.

I might feel more inspired later...

PS - I believe the zig zag dress falls into the cocktail dress category until proven otherwise.
