I really liked Derek Lam S/S 07, but I found his F/W show so blah. I liked some pieces (shown below) which were all really elegant dresses. However, the other pieces....whereas I was surprised and wowed by Marc Jacobs, I was so extremely disappointed by Derek Lam.

I was *REALLY* impressed by the Marc Jacobs F/W 2007 show. After collections of the bohemian/hobo chic look, I was starting to get the impression that was all to it.

So, imagine my surprise to see an elegant yet still Marc Jacobs stamped collection for his Fall and Winter show.

I am seriously amazed by the elegance of the pieces. At the same time, a lot of the interesting layering and texture of his previous designs are still there. I think his collection was able to effectively visualize that elegance doesn't have to mean boring or simple.
