Three items shopping list freeze until May.

Moments before I climb into bed, I come up with a brilliant (or crazy) idea to form the shopping pledge until NYC trip in May.

I am not allowed to buy any clothing or accessories item over $30 until Victoria Day weekend unless it falls within these three items:

1. Trench coat
2. Black boots
3. Brown boots

Three items only. Care to join me?

I think I found an LV purchase that I will love and yet is distinct from the nasty fakes floating around. It is part of the new Monogram Groom collection and features a cartoon that was used in their advertisements in 1921. It's probably the most expensive coin purse ever ($245USD), but it is definitely a cuter alternative to the cherry blossom print. What do you think?

I love this look! Especially the puffy sleeves on the white shirt. Me wants....

I also love the new interpretations of the classical trench coat. Club Monaco's version of the bell sleeves on a trench doesn't look so bad...It could one of those in-theory items.

I had my first class in Make-up Artistry last night, which lasted 3 hours. The instructor, who was formerly a make-up artist at MAC, talked about the course outline, projects, exams, and tools we'll need to buy in order to get the most out of the class. All I need to say is, Thank You Cat for the start up fund. After going through the entire kit, the grand total is over $500. So you see, every little bit counts.

I think from now on, any chance we get to practice application in class, I will take a before and after shot and post them on our blog so you can see how terrible or good I am. :P Secondly, Cat, I need a victim for my final exam on Feb 21. Do you know anyone? (wink wink nudge nudge) You will have to commit 3 hours on Feb 21 to have your face put on by yours truly. Hopefully you will be able to make it. Thirdly, if any of you guys or your friends have a special occassion or even a night out, call me so I can practice.

Lastly, taking this course was definitely a good idea. I think it will be rewarding in many aspects. I might go bankrupt doing this program but at least I'll know if I have talent or not. :P

Stay tuned....

Happy New Year everyone! I haven't posted in the blog for a long time. Christmas was quiet and relaxing - it could not have been more perfect. Believe it or not, I did not buy much. Here are the things I bought since Boxing Day.

I got this trench coat at FCUK while shopping with Mumu. She was the one who discovered this coat and my first reaction was "Hello.......". Why, you ask. It was only $60.

Nothing else was purchased that day. However, I did return the Chloe clutch I got at Holt's F&F day for under $500. The regular retail price was $575+tax.

On Boxing Day, I woke Tony up early and we headed to Yorkdale. I picked up a pair of boots from Aldo I had been eyeing all season. The regular retail price was $200 and I got it for $105.

Later that week, I was surfing the Purse Blog and saw a thread for a sale at Net a Porter. I searched that thread and discovered that NAP was selling the steel Chloe clutch for $212USD. I bought that bag in the blink of an eye. I had it sent to my grandma's house in the US and had my mom bring it back since she was there visiting anyway. I love you, paddy clutch!

That concluded the Boxing Week shopping. I didn't buy anything else since I knew that the real markdowns would take place after the New Year. And so, last Friday I went to the mall with JP. Within one hour, I picked up a pair of skinny jeans at H&M for $50. They're just as soft and tight as the JBrand ones, but only 22% of the JBrand price. YAY!

Next, came Zara. Typically their sales are not so enticing and the mess you have to dig through just isn't worth the time. I am, however, a firm believer in shopping karma and so I just went in to do a quick browse and discovered these cream-coloured sling-back flats that would be perfect for summer. They reminded me of the ones Balenciaga sent down the runway. They were $20 and the only pair left in my size. It was meant to be....

I had originally purchased a royal blue cocktail dress from Club Monaco for $69. But after some thought and persuasion from Mumu, I decided that I should return it. I also decided that I should go on a cocktail dress ban for the next four seasons. That's right people, I'm not allowed to buy another cocktail dress until Spring 2009. We'll see how long that lasts....
