I got my first ever pair of flip flops today.

Black Havaianas on sale at Aritzia.

Ow.

I've always wanted to get a pair because they look so nice on other people. You can wear it with jeans, with skirts, with shorts, with dresses...everything. However, I'd try them on in the store and I think, hmm, this kind of hurts, so I put them back.

I recently lost my two favourite pairs of summer shoes in the span of a week (my brown sandals and white rounded toe flats). I wore these two pairs of shoes basically every Spring/Summer/Fall day for two years, so it was time they fell apart. Now I need new pairs of perfect summer sandals and shoes that will go with everything. Unfortunately, but of course, finding shoes that meet such ideals is very hard to find. I know the search will likely take a while, and being the super patient shopper that I am, I know there's a chance the search may extend into Summer 2007 before I find a pair that I love. So, I decided to just buy a pair of flip flops while I search my next pair of favourite summer shoes.

Ow.

The only reason I continue to wear them is because I'm going by Wendy's claim that "the pain goes away once you get used to them."

In the mean time...omg, they hurt.

Until recently, I've thought of Chanel as quite outdated. I think I'm valid in thinking that given I lived in Toronto and their Chanel flagship store really caters to the older crowd. Since discovering Style.com and now having the chance to view the entire collection and not just what is in stock at Chanel, I am completely in love.

Some of my favourite pics from the recent couture show includes the baby doll jumper dresses:

I also love the embellishments that was another key feature of this collection.

One of the looks that was a hit-and-miss for me was the tight denim pants paired with denim gloves. I think it looked great with the dark red coat. Funky, interesting, classic. I did not like it in light denim paired with a black and white tweed coat. It could be the model and the location...perhaps if I saw someone dressed like that in Kensington Market, I woudl think "cool!" But Chanel couture show? No.

There were a lot of pieces in the collection that I felt I could wear immediately. Oooooh, if only I could wear these to work.

I always hated those people who abuse their cell phones and who are at their mercy. Those people with poor cell phone etiquette who keep them ringing during private parties or intimate dinners don't realize how disruptive and rude they can be. But now I've become one of those people addicted to their phone. Thankfully, I don't get that many calls but the text messaging and the camera options are so useful that I'm not sure how I would function without them now. I love my cell phone! (Yes, I'm a hypocrite!)

Who said Haute Couture was a dying art? As long as John Galliano is at the helm of Dior, we will continue to see works of art like these. I never cease to be in awe after viewing a Dior show. These dresses are just spectacular and are worth every penny of the 25G they charge.

I first read about these Club Monaco necklaces in the August issue of Elle Canada. I went out to the Bloor St. location to check them out today. They are selling for $79 CDN which is in fact cheaper than the US because they're selling it for $79 USD. WOW what a deal! The buttons are very clearly vintage and they are chunkier than they appear in the posted image. I bought the circle one and have tried it on at home with many different dresses. I don't know exactly how I feel about it. Let me know you think.
